My package, like the others has tape closing the outer plastic around the box and its inner contents are factory sealed also.
As the Japanese text says above the Metal Gear Solid logo on the top of the box, this is the Metal Gear Solid “Stockholder Commemoration Edition” Gold Premium Package.
Limited to 5000 pieces, this package is different to the regular “Silver” MGS premium package in as much as it is gold in colour, the “Metal Gear Solid Classified” book contained inside has a different patterned cover and it had a far more limited print run. What makes this even more rare is the fact that it was given to Konami Shareholders way back in 1997 when the game was released.
The MGS premium packages are made of very fragile cardboard casing and are renowned for denting easily but even now, over ten years later, this sealed gem is still in mint condition and is perhaps the keystone of my collection and maybe my most prized posession. Anyone who manages to own a Gold Shareholder package is a very lucky person and I am proud to own such an immaculate piece of Metal Gear history.
